To further streamline the user experience, WhatsApp wants to reorganize the settings area to ensure options are easy for users. In addition to these user interface improvements, WhatsApp also aims to introduce a new shortcut within the chat list. Discovered in the latest WhatsApp Android beta update 2.23.11.16, this shortcut allows users to quickly access the app settings. Once that shortcut is enabled in a future update, users will be able to explore and experiment with the new and improved app settings UI, the report said.
The new WhatsApp settings interface is currently under development and will be made available to users through an upcoming update of the app.
Along with the UI improvements, WhatsApp is also working on a new feature that will allow users to choose unique usernames for their accounts. The username feature is expected to be integrated into the app settings, specifically under WhatsApp Settings > Profile. The said feature is expected to help improve account privacy. By assigning unique usernames, users can better control their identity within the messaging platform.
