Saleen celebrates its 40th anniversary with another special edition sixth-generation Mustang. The SA-40 two-seater Speedster is produced in a limited edition of 10 units, with a Saleen body kit and a tuned V8 engine.

The model is a continuation of previous anniversary specials, including the newer ones SA-35 2018 onwards. All examples will be painted Speedlab Yellow in combination with black graphics. The exterior looks very similar to other Saleen tunes Mustangs thanks to the custom bumpers, side skirts, ventilated front fenders, hood shovels, and tinted headlights. In addition, the company suggests that the five-spoke alloy wheels are unique to the SA-40.

The unique tonneau cover with carbon fiber tires over the headrests differentiates the SA-40 from regular Mustang convertibles and justifies the Speedster designation. The two-seater interior gets black leather with white stitching, white patches, and yellow detailing.

The SA-40 shares most of its fundamentals with the Saleen 302 Black Label. That means it gets a supercharged 5.0-liter Coyote V8 with 800 hp (588 kW / 811 hp) and 675 lb-ft (915 Nm) of torque. chassis upgrades These include Racecraft suspension and Saleen-specific brakes.

Steve Saleen, founder of the company, said, “We really wanted to make the SA-40 something special and I think we’ve succeeded by creating the best looking and best performing Saleen Mustang yet.”

The limited production vehicle is priced at $142,000. However, you can get one a lot cheaper as the first copy will be given to one lucky person who will donate to the non-profit organization Cruise for a Cause, which benefits cancer research.
