The Mumbai Indians stormed through to the finals of the very first edition of the 2023 Women’s Premiere League. They defeated the UP Warriorz by a whopping 72 runs. Issy Wong was the game changer of the game with her brilliant hat trick and a magic spell of 4/15.
The UP Warriorz chased a goal of 183 and failed to get going and Kiran Navgire was the only player to challenge the Mumbai team’s bowling in any way. Navgire scored 43 points as the UP side gave their all in just 17.4 overs with 110.
After being asked to bat first, Nat Sciver anchored the innings and took the team to 182. She was helped by guest appearances from Amelia Kerr, Yastika Bhatia and Hayley Matthews.
